The world has no sympathy for women who bring nothing except child bearing and superb mothering skills. Too often women are taught to be nurturing and dependent, leaving their financial security in the hands of fathers, husbands or brothers. We often hear that money is not everything but when it comes to a woman's life, income is more than just currency, its her survival.
Money allowed me in many moments to walk away with my dignity. Every woman wants to get married to a man who is well off. It's better to cry in a Ferrari, they say. But men with Ferraris dont invest in women who simply want to sit on the passenger side.
So many women are married to rich men but know nothing about the company, the businesses and the turnovers. They have never seen the paperwork, they have no knowledge of the shareholding. They are shocked when the man dies and find out that his other children have equal shareholding and often, the wife is excluded. Divorces are nasty because women feel they were there through the struggle so deserve to benefit. But a man seldom remembers who held his hand. He remembers who loaded the bullets as he was firing the gun." Pokello addressing a forum to mark Women's Day.
