Some prisoners are being released to go home for conjugal visits in a big move towards their rehabilitation.

Service says the conjugal visits will be widened beyond Marondera Female Open
Prison and Connemara Prison. The inmates who experience this are those who
would have demonstrated exemplary behaviour and adaptability to corrective
measures.
“The upcoming
parole system will also address conjugal rights for inmates. Many in Marondera
Female and Connemara Prisons have already begun to enjoy these rights while
serving their sentences. Conjugal rights will be at the comfort of their homes
not in prisons,” ZPCS spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Meya Khanyezi told
The Herald.
