Violet Avoid’s husband, Martin Madzikanda says his wife never tried to take her own
life but had food poisoning. He said he was shocked when news of her demise spread over
social media. He said she was not depressed and they were not divorcing. On
that video where Violet was narrating about the sexual assault, divorce and
being stranded, the husband said it was a skit. He was he was the one holding
the camera on that day. Madzikanda blames language barrier for the initial confusion
as the people who were with Violet when she was struck by food poisoning spoke
very little English. They contacted few people in Violet’s contact list to
inform them of the poisoning. But the message was lost in translation, leading
to social media posts about her death.
