Maud Chifamba has revealed that she was left devastated after she was laid off from her chartered accounting job a few weeks before Christmas. She said she could not get out of bed for two to three weeks as she struggled to come to terms with it. Maud said although this was a voluntary lay off, it still crushed her. She said her firm offered her a London posting but could not take up the offer for various personal reasons. When recession hit, she and others were shown the door. She said she learnt some harsh lessons. She said she was lucky as she managed to secure another job within a few weeks which was better than her last. Watch her video on YouTube.
