Oscar Pambuka has been been convicted for attempting to defraud a Harare-based transporter of R36 000. Pambuka, a former television presenter, together with Elmore Mwenye and Ngonidzashe Mbauya, were remanded in custody to today for sentencing.
Pambuka told the complainant that he was the Croco Motors marketing manager and wanted R36 000 as an advance payment for the shipment of motor spare parts from South Africa. The complainant was not convinced and contacted Croco Motors. The con was then exposed, leading to the arrest of the trio.
