Shashl has said she will only withdraw the rape charge against Levels if he apologises to her in public, among other conditions. Levels’ lawyer, Dumisani Mtombeni, said he would discuss with his client first and take further instructions before engaging Shashl and her team.

Levels feels that he has no reason to apologise to the rape charge which he is pleading not guilty to. He believes that any apology will be taken to mean that he has a case to answer.

Shashl insists that without an apology then the court will have to decide. The State said Shashl and Levels had irreconcilable differences that led to their split. Levels is said to have tracked his ex-lover to Pabloz nightclub, with the intention to mend their relationship, but Shashl rejected his advances. The court heard that after failing to convince Shashl to reconcile, he then threatened her with unspecified actions. Shashl said he then leaked the videos.
