A Zimbabwean woman who was detained to be deported from South Africa has collapsed and died.
Chipo Mukandi, 45, a domestic worker, suffered a heart
attack from the shock of looming deportation. Her son, Clive Mandirahwe,22,
told H-Metro said “She did not have some papers but her passport was stamped. I
think my mum got so shocked since it was her first time being arrested over
such an issue.
“My father passed away a long time ago and now I’m left
with my 11-year-old sister Nyasha.” She was rounded up along with other
foreigners on a bus in Pretoria last month. She is expected to be laid to rest
in Masvingo.
