A prosecutor who was fired after going on strike is now going blind. Patrobs Dube who is now studying law at university is appealing for help.
“l worked as a public prosecutor. In 2012, l was dismissed
from my job, following a country wide prosecutors' strike. I then began to
study for an LLB Degree. Thank God, l graduate this year! All along, l have
been looking forward to joining the ranks of the learned profession, practising
law: serving my country, again, uplifting my family, contributing to the
development of mycity and lend a hand to the building of a Post-Covid World.
“I've been diagnosed with Tractional retinal detachment
(secondary to Diabetes) on both eyes! l need surgery as a matter of urgency, or
else l will lose my eyesight.
The op has to be done in the next 3- 4 months. My doctor
says the procedure will cost USD 5 000.00 ( US Five Thousand Dollars). If done
in South Africa, it will cost around R60 000.00 (Sixty Thousand Rand). Hence,
my plea to you to help me raise the amount l will need for the Bills.
