Former minister Supa Mandiwanzira is a free man after he was acquitted of corruption charges. He had been charged with abuse of office after he awarded a South African firm a contract to audit the US$218 954 843 deal between Netone and Huawei Technologies.
This charge was cancelled by a High Court judge last year. He was also accused of having appointed his personal assistant on the POTRAZ board when he was not a government employee. But it later emerged that the PA was infact a government employee. The case collapsed. A magistrate then acquitted him of the charges.
