A prophetess from Gweru has been arrested after she molested a female congregant in her home.

Juliet Masakanire of Pray Ministries International Church Deliverance and Testimony fondled, kissed and inserted her fingers in the private parts of the congregant. She was pretending to be a man all the time.

Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko said the matter came to light when the complainant, a 32-year-old Gweru woman, reported the incident to a church mate, and they both reported the matter to church elders.

“Sometime during the month of January, Masakanire temporarily accommodated the complainant as she was still looking for a house to rent. While staying together, Masakanire gave the complainant a prophecy that she was going to get married to a man named Stanley Chinyonga.

“From the day of prophecy, the accused would speak to complainant in a male voice saying she was Stanley Chinyonga.

“On an unknown date but during the month of February, the accused woke up during the night and started kissing the complainant all over her body and caressing her. She tried to resist but she was overpowered.

“Masakanire mounted the complainant and inserted her fingers in the complainant’s private parts. She did that on four different occasions since they slept on the same bed. She threatened the complainant not to report the matter to anyone or else she would not meet her future husband Stanley if she did,” he said.
