An Australian woman has been sacked from her job and is now
facing deportation from China after she went for a jog.
The woman was an executive for German pharmaceutical giant
Bayer in Beijing and was ordered to go into home quarantine to prevent the
spread of the coronavirus. But she was spotted by a neighbour breaking her
mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The woman was then confronted by a neighborhood security
guard who told her that she should not be out of her home or at least wear a
mask. She refused.
A confrontation ensued and cops were called. Bayer released
a statement declaring that the woman had been dismissed from her post. She is
now being deported.
