The MDC expresses its heartfelt condolences to the Rukanda and Mhundwa families in particular and the MDC family in general, for the sad loss of Paul Rukanda and Tafadzwa Mhundwa in a tragic accident last night in Kwekwe.
Rukanda was the Glenview South District Organising Secretary, while Mhundwa was the Ward 7 Mt Pleasant vice chairperson.
Meanwhile, Glen View South legislator, Vimbai Tsvangirai Java and Mrs Muringani, the Harare West ward 16 Women's Assembly Chairperson, were injured in the same accident.
Mhundwa is the brother to the late Susan Tsvangirai. Rukanda was Tsvangirai Java's campaign manager, and they were on their way to Harare after attending the Bulawayo provincial campaign caucus.
She is campaigning to be the Assembly of Women’s Secretary. Tsvangirai Java has been admitted at a Harare Hospital while Mrs Muringani has since been discharged. We wish Hon Java a speedy recovery.
