A Zimbabwean man from Manchester in the UK has plunged from a bridge in a suspected case of suicide.

He was confirmed dead when he fell from M62 Scammonden Road Bridge. West Yorkshire Police confirmed they were called to the scene, between J22 and J23, shortly before 11am on Sunday morning. Ezra Sibanda said the Zimbabwean man is believed to be in his 50s.

The motorway was closed for better half of the day in both directions while emergency services attended the incident and has since re-opened.
