The Chinese built Mahusekwa Hospital is falling apart, a
few years after being opened. Cracks have appeared throughout the ceilings, walls
and floor.
The medical officer at the hospital, Dr Munyaradzi Muzamhindo told the Health Times that the
cracks were not yet life threatening. “The first job was not done thoroughly I
woujld say. We are however working flat out to fill up the cracks, already the
construction team is on the ground doing their job. The situation is not yet
worse, the cracks are not yet life threatening I can say.”
The $6 million hospital was part of 30 hospitals China pledged
to build in Zimbabwe.
