A kombi driver who crashed into one of the cars in VP Chiwenga motorcade has been denied bail.

Silent Hungwe (30) was charged with two counts of contravening the Road Traffic Act. The court heard that on August 24 along Borrowdale Road at the intersection of Kingsmead, Hungwe was driving a commuter omnibus when he avoided a vehicle that had blocked the road paving way for Vice President Chiwenga’s motorcade.

Hungwe went on to drive and hit the vehicle on the rear right side. In the second count, Hungwe is being charged for driving without a driver’s licence. Hungwe was denied bail and will appear in court on September 4.
