A Gutu teacher has been sacked after she was accused of indecently assaulting another teacher’s 12-year-old boy.
Barbra Njondaya (42), a former female teacher at
Muchekayaora Primary School has been dragged before a Gutu magistrate charged
with indecent assault.
She pleaded not guilty of the charges, saying the
allegations were a smear campaign which has seen her losing her job. Njondaya
was remanded to July 10 for judgement.
Tell Zimbabwe reports that Njondaya called the boy into her
house before locking the door holding a knife.
She dragged the boy into her bedroom and forcibly put him
on the bed and started to caress his upper body and kissed him several times on
the mouth. Njondaya threatened to kill the child with a knife if he told anyone
about the incident before opening the door to let him go.
The boy then reported the matter to her mother who
accompanied him to the police to make a report leading to Njondaya's arrest.
