Soul Jah Love collapsed in South Africa and had to be rushed to a hospital in Sandton. He was due to perform at a scheduled show on Friday night.

Show promoter, Batsie Masvinge confirmed that the chanter could not perform at his 263 Nights as he was unwell.

“We have come to learn that Soul Jah Love has been unwell for a while (diabetes) but during our engagement with him, he had shown willingness and wish to headline our 263 Nights weekend. Everything was above board, and when we went to fetch him at OR Tambo Airport last night, he sadly collapsed due to high sugar levels and we had to rush him to the nearest hospital in Sandton.

Personally I was extremely disappointed as a promoter and lover of Zim music and had hoped that we would treat our fans to a night of great dance-hall music. We did all we could with the most resources to make sure he performs at 263 Nights and his management Roka Fella Promotions were very professional and helpful in finding a solution so that show goes on but in the end we realised there was no way he (Soul Jah Love) was going to perform.

Besides all the negatives, last night became a success due to the hundreds of people who chose to support us even in the absence of our headline act .We are proud to announce we still had a full house of people who were informed at the door by the CEO of 263 Nights  about his absence but still decided to get inside and attend 263 Nights.

We wish Soul Jah Love well, a speed recovery and that he will be back at work again in no time.
