The parents of a boy who won a car at the OK Grand
Challenge say they plan to sell it to buy a house.
Tariro Mukanga, of Hatfield Junior School, was on Friday
officially handed over his Nescafe NP200 vehicle at a ceremony.
According to his parents, Tariro won his first car last
year at the same competition after he participated through the Mega Market
brands.
“Tariro is my second child and he is the only one who seems
to be winning the competition. He has two sisters who also participate but he
is the only one being singled out. I am proud to have him as a son and God
willing we are praying that one day he will win the grand prize,” said his
mother, Mrs Mukanga.
Tariro’s parents say they sold his first car and built a
house in their child’s name in Waterfalls. They now plan to acquire their son’s
second property in Harare’s leafy surburbs.
The family is into the retailing business and own four
shops in Karoi where they plan to expand their influence to the country’s four
corners.
