President Mnangagwa says the 2008 elections were free and
fair with no political violence recorded.
He told The Economist :“It was fair, very fair. Where is
the evidence for violence? Not a single case was taken to the police.”
On land reform he says he only has one farm. “No, no, it is
one farm, one person. “I have 404 hectares and I paid for the
equipment myself.”
Mnangagwa admits, however, that Zimbabwe “became almost a
country without friends” under Robert Mugabe, who was ejected in a coup last
year. Now “Zimbabwe is open for business,” says Mnangagwa, speaking in his home
in Borrowdale.
