President Mnangagwa has pardoned all female inmates and juveniles
in the country’s jails.
All those on death row will now serve life sentences. President
Mnangagwa extended the amnesty in terms of Section 112 (1) (a) and (d) of the
Constitution of Zimbabwe.
The amnesty has emptied the country’s female prisons as
well as juvenile prisons. Many other prisoners were also pardoned. All juveniles have also been given their freedom
irrespective of the graveness of their crimes.
