MDC president Morgan Tsvangirai who is battling for life in hospital in South Africa is said to be refusing to eat in protest at his wife, Elizabeth's ill treatment.
The Tsvangirai family has barred Elizabeth from visiting him. But the Daily News reports that Tsvangirai who is in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Johannesburg hospital has refused to eat for days.
His son, Vincent nearly clobbered Elizabeth outside the hospital, vowing that she will never see his father again. The family has been dragged into the MDC factional wars with Elizabeth said to be pushing for Chamisa to take over while the rest of the family favours Mudzuri. The family is also eyeing to lay hands on Tsvangirai pension which he has been offered by the government. Tsvangirai and Elizabeth have no children together.
The treatment of Elizabeth by the family has been roundly condemned by Zimbabweans.
