MDC acting President, Nelson Chamisa says his party will
not hold a special congress to choose a new leader this year.
He said this was because there is not enough time to
organise one since it was three months before polls.
Chamisa says his elevation to acting president is
"100% correct" and Thokozani Khupe has failed to understand the
procedure of picking an acting leader.
“Unfortunately, no vice president can elevate themselves to
be the leader. There are no appointed or
elected vice presidents. We have 3 Deputy Presidents who are all equal. No-one
is above the other,” said Chamisa.
Chamisa apologised for the violence in Buhera saying it was
an embarrassment.
