Harare City Council has backed down and pulled down its
advert which had been roundly condemned.
Harare mayor Ben Manyenyeni said : “I have ordered the
pulling down of the advert in consideration of the anguish shared by our
stakeholders. We have taken their feelings into account to reach that
decision."
But the new advert with the woman carrying the man has also
been attacked. The council insists that the import of the ads is to hammer home
the fact that those paying bills are carrying all the burden.
